STUDENTS got the chance to become radio reporters for the day, broadcasting their own news stories live.

Ten youngsters aged 11-16 made and broadcasted stories as part of the BBC School Report project.

Students made a range of reports on subject of their choice including a Doctor Who production and film review and a four-minute report on money raised during the academy’s recent charities week.

The report included interviews from charity representatives as well as headteacher Chris Richardson.
