BUDDING journalists from Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College hit the airwaves as part of a national project to engage youngsters in the news.
More than 30 fledgling reporters joined the BBC’s School Report feature, alongside 1,000 other schools from around the country.
The students produced a video bulletin featuring school news on its contribution to a Royal Shakespeare Festival and its plans for Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.
Bethany Stamp, of year 10, said: “It has been great fun my favourite bit so far has been working to a tight deadline, with people of all ages.”
Headteacher Shelagh Pritchard said: “I am so impressed with the quality of the work the students have produced they have made a very professional and well-edited video which was published on their own website as well as linking to the national coverage.”
