A SPECIAL day aiming to encourage youngsters to enjoy science and engineering was held at a Weston academy.

Eight teams of five year nine pupils from Hans Price Academy in Marchfields Way competed to build a wind turbine in less than three hours, before the turbines were tested for effectiveness, stability and design.

The winning team of Sophie Oakley, Esmee Fear, Hollie Davies, Tabitha Roxborough and Elsie Oakwood will compete against 11 other teams from the South West next month.
