Plans to build eight homes in Churchill have been rejected by North Somerset Council.
Applicant Zena Bishop hoped to build eight houses at land off Front Street, near the village post office.
The development was slammed by Churchill and Langford Parish Council in May, with residents highlighting a number of concerns.
North Somerset Council refused planning permission as the development was ‘out of keeping with the rural landscape character and will result in harm to the rural setting and edge of the village’.
Concerns over highways safety and breach of the settlement boundary were also cited by the council in the decision notice.
