Elderly women in car crash

AN ELDERLY woman had to be freed from a car involved in a crash in Cheddar.

Fire engines and ambulances were sent to Station Road, near to the Tesco Express store, at about 4.10pm yesterday (Mon).

The incident involved two cars, with two elderly women in one of them.

Fire crews gave first aid to some of those involved while waiting for ambulance crews to arrive.

One of the women was able to walk from her car but the other later had to be taken out on a spinal board through the passenger door.

Firefighters then made the scene and the cars safe before leaving the two women in the care of paramedics.
