ELECTORAL boundaries across Sedgemoor District Council are set to be redrawn ahead of next year's council elections.

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has drawn up its final recommendations to be approved by Parliament, with 23 new wards set to be created ahead of May’s elections.

The recommendations will create the new wards of Berrow, Knoll, Huntspill and Pawlett, Axevale, Cheddar and Shipham, Wedmore and Mark, Quantocks, Highbridge and Burnham Marine, Burnham Central and Burnham North, who would share a total of 22 councillors.

The recommendations will be presented in an order to Parliament in the coming weeks.
