Emergency sea search on Christmas Day

COASTGUARD teams have been called out on Christmas Day to search for a missing man, thought to be lost at sea.
The teams from Weston and Burnham were called to Uphill beach at around 1.30pm.
They were joined by lifeboat crews from Weston, police officers and a RAF helicopter after receiving reports that a man had walked into the sea.
A thorough search was called off at 3.45pm with no evidence of anyone in danger.
A coastguard spokesman said the initial description given to police was vague and believes it was a false alarm, albeit with the best intentions.
