EXPECTATIONS for England may not be particularly high, but that did not stop fans donning their Three Lions shirts and cheering the team on in their European Championship opener on Monday.

England fans packed into Weston’s bars to watch the national team eke out a tense 1-1 draw with traditional foes France. Fans, such as these supporters at All Stars Sports Bar in Regent Street, watched Joleon Lescott grab England’s opener before Manchester City’s Samir Nasri scored the French equaliser nine minutes later.

Roy Hodgson’s team will take on Sweden tomorrow (Fri) at 7.45pm.
