A TRIP around 10 churches will raise money for the buildings or charities while giving people the chance to explore the area.

The Ten Towers event, supported by The National Churches Trust, involves people cycling or walking past 10 churches, starting in Wedmore.

Other villages and towns on the route include Rodney Stoke, Draycott, Cheddar and Axbridge.

There will also be visits to Compton Bishop, Loxton, East Brent, Brent Knoll, Mark and Blackford.

The group will leave St Mary’s Church in Manor Lane on September 13 from 10am.

There is a car park available, and people can visit as many or as few churches as they wish, where some will have refreshments available.

Entry is priced £10 for adults or £5 for those under 18, and sponsorship can also be raised, which can be split between a church or charity.

The money raised helps to preserve Britain’s 47,000 churches, chapels and meeting houses which are at risk of falling into disrepair.
