STRUCTURAL tests are still being carried out on a hotel in Weston gutted by fire.

Avon and Fire Rescue was called to tackle the large blaze at The Bayside Hotel in Upper Church Road last month.

The fire caused substantial damage to the once-proud hotel, with three of the upper floors collapsing into the lower part of the building.

Since then, officers from North Somerset Council have closed off part of a nearby road and boarded the property up.

Safety tests are also still ongoing on the remains of the site to determine if it needs to be demolished.
