A WESTON charity has launched its annual fundraising walk but this year it has added a fairy tale twist.

Weston Hospicecare’s (Not the) Midnight Beach Walk, for women only, will take place on September 8 but this year due to tide times, the beach will be under water by midnight.

So, just like Cinderella, all participants have to make it back to the start point before the clock strikes 12.

Around 800 women take part in the walk each year and this year’s event will start at 6.30pm, so walkers can enjoy the event in the late evening sunshine.

It also means the hospice has been able to add a new, longer 10k route, as well as the 5k, for those who are feeling adventurous.

The fundraising manager said: “We have loads of fun with this event and this year we’re looking forward to participants turning up in ball gowns and slippers in a nod to the Cinderella theme.”

Tickets, priced £5-9, are available from the charity’s website. For more information visit www.westonhospicecare.org.uk or call 01934 423960.
