Fake tickets to tackle bad parking

POLICE cadets and PCSOs will hand out fake parking tickets in a new scheme aiming to stop people parking illegally in Weston.
Imitation parking tickets are being trialled for a second time in the town’s central and west wards.
Offending cars will receive a yellow sticker on the windscreen, much like with a regular parking ticket, but inside is a warning note with information.
At the last Police and Communities Together meeting, police cadet Thomas Lewington said they hope to hand out more than 150 tickets during the trial.
The cars being targeted are those parked on double yellow lines or dangerously at a junction or busy stretch of road.
The registration is taken and if it a second offence occurs, a real ticket is given with the associated fine.
