A community church taught families about the Bible in an exciting way during a craft afternoon.

Members from the Church of St Peter and St Paul, in Coronation Road, hosted a Sunday tea time together event to help unite parents and children over coffee and crafts.

The Bleadon group learned about the Pentecost, the religious event when the holy spirit descended on Jesus’ followers.

Jill Smith, a reader at the church, said: “We launched the event for families and anyone who is young at heart.

“Around 25 people come regularly and we aim to put on something which is purely for fun.”

The event includes refreshments and homemade cakes, a craft event and small service.

The art work produced by the families will be hung in the church.

The next event will be held from 4-5pm on July 9 at Bleadon Youth Club, in Coronation Road.
