For the second time in less than a week, a car became stuck in the mud at Brean beach, forcing rescue crews to come to their aid.
A Ford Galaxy became trapped at around 5pm last night (Thursday) when the tide was coming in fast.
The car had two adults, a baby and two dogs inside but they all left the vehicle after realising it was trapped in the mud.
Burnham coastguards and BARB Search and Rescue arrived on the scene. The driver was clearly struggling and so BARB flew out to the vehicle in order to safely get it back on the beach.
Crews then had to carefully remove the car from the mud.
The incident comes after a camper van got stuck in the mud in Brean on Sunday.
Beach warden Dave Furber said: “It was a race against the incoming tide to rescue the vehicle before the sea reached it.
“The family were really grateful.”
