A YOUNG mother and father living above a massage parlour say they are being forced to move out of their home because they fear for their safety. The couple live in a flat above Emmanuelles in Baker Street, Weston, and say they are being hounded out by callers hammering on their front door wanting to use the parlour's services.Paul Evans, aged 29, and 24-year-old Helen Eggleton have already put a notice on their door so parlour clients stop pestering them but they have now decided to move out for the sake of their two young children, four-year-old Josh and Gemma, aged 17 months. Mr Evans said: "We have people calling here at all hours of the day and night. One guy even threatened to beat me up when I told him we were nothing to do with the massage parlour. We have had to put a notice on our door in an attempt to keep people away."Early one morning I even saw a man who had climbed on the yard wall and was looking through our first floor window. It is affecting all of us and we have to get out. We have been happy here for three years but are now looking for a new home."The worst thing is Josh has some communication problems and we had lots of support in Weston. Now, because of all this, Josh may lose all of that. It is just not right."The massage parlour bosses have been urged to pack their bags and leave town by a leading councillor as opposition to the unauthorised business continues to grow.Councillor John Crockford-Hawley said the business should be 'run out of town'.The executive member for planning at North Somerset Council has condemned the business and wants it closed down.Angry residents living in neighbouring Wooler Road have collected a 260-signature petition against the massage parlour, saying they suspect it provides sexual services for its clients. The parlour owners deny this. The petition has been handed over to Weston MP John Penrose.Emmanuelles, which opened about four weeks ago, is yards from Christ Church Primary School. Residents, community leaders and councillors have all called for the parlour to shut saying it is inappropriate for the area.North Somerset Council has confirmed the massage parlour owners flouted planning rules when it opened the former pet grooming salon without asking to change its use.Planning officials have written to the parlour owners asking them to apply for planning permission before May 11 or face enforcement action.Cllr Crockford-Hawley said: "If there is a planning application I will be calling it in to the west area committee and campaigning for it to be refused."We do not want the massage parlour here. It should be run out of town. The owners should pack up their bags and take their business elsewhere.""This is something I want to disappear from the local area. None of us are naive and we all know what is going on there. There are massive objections from the whole community.
