A 15-YEAR-OLD has been arrested accused of stealing presents from under a family's Christmas tree.
The family, who live in Pudding Pie Lane, Langford, were asleep when an intruder broke in at 2am on December 18 and stole the presents, as well as cash, car keys and laptops.
The police were called in the morning and some of the presents were found discarded in nearby fields.
The teenager was stopped at Bristol Parkway and arrested before being bailed. He was arrested again hours later following a fingerprint test.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Deane said: “It has been a great pleasure to be able to reunite the victims of this crime with some of their property and Christmas gifts.
“Some good police work means we have been able to make it a much happier Christmas for the victims involved.
“We will be relentless in tracking down people who commit these types of crime and we will place them before the courts. I would urge people to ensure their homes are secure and valuables out of sight.”
