The father of a 24-year-old man from Weston-super-Mare who has been missing for close to a week has put out a desperate plea for information to find his son.

Deakon Wilkins was last seen in Bristol at around 4.30am on Saturday morning. He had been enjoying a night out with friends at Motion nightclub, in Avon Street.

But he has not returned home since then and his friends and family have been unable to contact him – as his phone does not connect.

His dad, Andy Wilkins, is now distraught and extremely worried about his son, who he says would never normally be away from home for more than a few days.

Andy told the Mercury: “We are so worried.

“He is a great and friendly lad, and everyone likes him.

“He came to us for tea on Friday afternoon before he went out with his mates – but then nothing after that.”

Andy said Deakon uses contact lenses, so could be very disorientated.

He is thought to have been wearing a red top, an orange hoodie, dark jeans and a dark blazer with red trainers on the night he disappeared.

Deakon is 5ft 10ins and of medium build, with curly ginger hear. However, his family believe he had cut his hair and shaved before heading out on Friday night.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has launched an investigation and anyone with information should call 101.

UPDATE: Police have released a CCTV image of Deakon on the night he went missing.
