THREE members of the same family have signed up to trek the Mendip Hills in aid of Weston Hospicecare.Cindi Patch will be walking 10 miles of the Mercury Mendip Challenge in June with her 20-year-old daughter Katie and sister-in-law Mandy. The trio will be walking in memory of Cindi and Mandy's mother-in-law Anne and Cindi's stepbrother Brian Bushby who have both been cared for at the hospice, based at Jackson Barstow House in Uphill.Cindi, aged 45, said: "The three of us took part last year and we really enjoyed it."Weston Hospicecare is a charity that means a lot to all of us and taking part in the Mercury Mendip Challenge is a brilliant way to raise money for the organisation and show our support."The event, supported by the Weston & Somerset Mercury, will take place on June 3 and walkers have the choice of four different length routes across the Mendip Hills or a five-mile fancy dress walk along Weston seafront. There is a 30-mile route starting from Wells, a 20-mile walk from Cheddar, a 15-mile route from Shipham and a 10-mile route starting at Kings Wood near Winscombe. The hospice will be providing a free coach to each of the starting points. After the walk, which ends at Jackson Barstow House, there will be a barbecue and live music.
