A SOMERSET town's farmers' market is celebrating a decade of selling local produce this year.

Axbridge farmers’ market has been getting producers, farmers and businesses together to sell everything from buffalo meat and milk to sheep’s cheese, bread, vegetables and trout for the past 10 years.

People turned out in Axbridge Square on Saturday to support the first monthly market of the landmark year.

Organiser Louise Hall said: “The market has almost doubled in size over the last five to six years.

“As well as being good for the producers it gives a boost to pubs and restaurants in the square too.”

The market and Axbridge Chamber of Commerce will be holding special events later in the year to commemorate the anniversary.
