FARMERS’ markets are an excellent way of picking up good quality meat and vegetables while supporting Somerset producers.

And there are a number of events being held across North Somerset and Somerset in the next few weeks.

The historic market town of Axbridge is the venue for a farmers’ market this Saturday.

As well as cheese and meat, there will be artisan chocolates and Somerset-grown garlic available.

The market will be in The Square from 9am-1pm.

A producers’ market will be held in Weston’s High Street on May 11 at 9am-1pm.

It is run by the Business Improvement District team, and the stalls will include cheese, meat and baked goods.

Some locally-sourced meat and produce will be available at the parish hall in Brent Street, Brent Knoll, on April 11 from 10am to noon.

And a farmers’ market with fish, preserves and more will also be held in Burnham High Street on April 24 from 9am-1pm.
