A FAMILY from Chapel Allerton has become a milestone member of an environmental charity.
Organic farmers Roger, aged 39, and Rachel Duckett and their two youngsters Polly, aged five and two-year-old Ewan, became the 20,000th members of Somerset Wildlife Trust.
Rachel, aged 35, said: I had been thinking of joining for a while and when a recruiter asked while I was shopping in Cheddar it was the perfect opportunity."
The family was presented with a framed certificate at the charity's annual conference in Draycott Memorial Hall on Saturday. The charity works on wildlife conservation projects and education in the county. Its aim is to maintain and preserve wildlife for future generations.
During the meeting trust members were also treated to a talk by BBC Wildlife producer Stephen Moss.
