A REMINDER of Worle's past could be a permanent fixture in homes in the
village in 2012.

The local history society
has produced a calendar featuring its favourite old pictures.

One of the ones here shows Worle High Street, looking west. The turning into Greenwood Road is on the left with the old bakery shop on the corner and The Golden Lion on the right.

A second picture of the bakery shows the same shop decorated for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902.

The image of The Square shows the New Inn, now the Woodspring pub, on the left and the turning up to The Scaurs is on the right.

The carnival picture taken in 1953 features Bill Skidmore, but Worle
History Society is asking for any details on anyone else in the picture.

The calendars are
available from Skidmores in the High Street or Raye Green at 2 The Dell, Worle, or on 01934 516773.

You can also call Raye if you can help identify any more people in the carnival picture.
