A festival promoting positive mental health will be held in Weston-super-Mare town centre this weekend.

The Feel Good Festival will be held at the Italian Gardens at 11am on Saturday as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

More than 20 charities will attend to give advice and information on services available while activities including samba dancing and tai chi will be held.

Live music will be performed throughout the day by the likes of the North Somerset Samba Band,
The Rock Choir and Hairy Viking.

The event is being hosted by the Warriors of Wellbeing, a group of organisations in North Somerset aiming to change the way mental health is viewed.

Member Stephen Budd said: “We all have mental health and too often the label of mental illness carries a stigma.

“By promoting wellbeing we hope to give a positive message about what we can all do to look after ourselves.”
