A clubber was left unconscious and another in hospital with serious injuries after a series of alcohol-fuelled assaults in Weston.A group of young men, aged from about 17-20, who had been on a night out drinking, attacked a man in Regent Street and then set on a group of four in Carlton Street after they were kicked out of a club.The six attackers were ejected from Destiny nightclub in Beach Road and walked up Regent Street where they committed the first assault on the man, which appears to have been unprovoked.Town centre police sergeant Pete Land arrested one youth and the rest of the group ran to Carlton Street.They then assaulted four men from Redditch who were on a night out. One was left unconscious and another had to be taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary with severe facial injuries.Police managed to arrest the other five but are still appealing for witnesses to the attacks. The culprits have been bailed pending further investigation.Police say they take a hard line on underage drinking and will be investigating how the younger members of the group had managed to buy alcohol.The incidents happened at about 3.45am on Sunday (June 3).
