Fire crew called to car blaze near Tesco

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a burning vehicle near a supermarket this morning (Sat).

A crew from Burnham arrived at the roundabout near Tesco, in Ben Travers Way, Brean, at about 11.30am, after reports of a vehicle fire.

The team found one black car in flames and crews used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Police also attended the incident and the vehicle’s engine was severely damaged by the fire.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has not reported any injuries and has confirmed the cause of the fire was accidental.
