Two fire crews were called out to Highbridge.

Two fire crews from Burnham-on-Sea were called out in the early hours of this morning.

The firefighters were sent to Harp Road, in Highbridge, at 3.59am today (Sunday) after reports of a traffic collision.

One car was found in a ditch, with the male driver trapped inside complaining of back and neck pain.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire Service said: “Crews initially stabilised the vehicle and used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle in preparation for extrication.

“The casualty was then removed from the vehicle on a long board and was left in the hands of the ambulance service, who was also in attendance.”

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
