Fire crews called to gas leak

FIRE crews were called to a gas leak last night (Tues).

They received a call from police shortly before 9pm about the incident in West Avenue, Highbridge.

On arrival crews from Burnham and Bridgwater could smell gas coming from an unoccupied domestic property.

They requested the attendance of Wales and West Utilities, as well as Sedgemoor District Council.

Fire crews forced entry into the premises and confirmed there was a gas leak.

They ventilated the property and left the incident in the hands of a gas engineer.
