Fire services were called to rescue a cow stuck in a water-filled ditch in a Somerset village yesterday (Wednesday).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called at 4.18pm to Crooked Lane, in Brent Knoll, to save the cow.

Firefighters from Burnham-on-Sea and a special rescue crew from Bridgwater used dry suits and water safety gear to release the cow from the ditch.

The cow was returned to its owner.
