Fire crews were called to a Burnham-on-Sea road today (Sunday) to tackle a fire at the back of the town’s post office, which they believe to be an arson attack.

When firefighters arrived at Victoria Street three wheelie bins were alight, and flames were spreading to a fence and some conifer trees nearby.

One main jet and a compressed foam jet was used to extinguish the blaze and a spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire Service said they believe it was started on purpose.
