YOUNGSTERS from Nailsea swapped their pencils for hoses during a visit from some firefighters.

A crew from Avon Fire and Rescue Service chatted to children from Golden Valley Primary School, in Nailsea Park, about their jobs before letting them have a go on some of their equipment.

Pupils enjoyed spraying the powerful hoses and trying on hard hats as they learnt about the life of a firefighter.
