Firefighters cut roof off car to free casualty after collision with lorry

FIREFIGHTERS had to free a person from a car after an incident involving a car and a lorry this morning (Wednesday).

Fire crews from Cheddar, Winscombe and Weston-super-Mare all attended a road traffic collision along the A38 in Rooksbridge, near East Brent and Brent Knoll, at around 9.45am.

The ambulance service and police also attended the scene and the road was closed for a short period of time.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle and free the casualty.

The road is now open.
