FIREFIGHTERS were called to reports of a ‘burning smell’ in Worle last night (Thurs).

An emergency call was received at 10.09pm by Avon Fire and Rescue Service from Linnet Close.

They were told a burning smell was coming from an electric cupboard, but no signs of a fire were found by crews.

As a precaution, the power was disabled.

The call was dealt with by resilience crews because a number of firefighters were taking part in a one-day strike.
