Firefighters rescue distressed sheep from ditch

A sheep had to be rescued from a ditch.


Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to rescue a sheep stuck in a bramble hedge in a water-filled ditch this morning (Monday).

A fire crew from Burnham-on-Sea and a rescue team from Bridgwater were sent to rescue a sheep in Burnham Moor Lane, Highbridge, shortly after 6am. Two specialist officers were also sent to the scene.

The firefighters were able to release the ewe and it was unharmed.
