Firefighters tackle trailer blaze

FIRE crews tackled a blaze at a motorway services this afternoon (Wednesday).

At 3pm a fire crew from Burnham and a crew from Bridgwater were dispatched to the Sedgemoor Services on the M5 northbound, following reports of a fire involving a commercial lawn mower on the back of a trailer.

The fire was put out prior to the arrival of the fire service, although crews damped it down with one hose reel jet and checked the machine with a thermal imaging camera.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
