A 16-YEAR-OLD author has penned her first book of poetry using her life experiences so far as inspiration.

Ellie Smart, of Worlebury Hill Road in Weston, has put 99 poems together in Night Hawk and the Burning Moon and they will go on sale in Waterstones in the Sovereign Shopping Centre.

The book launch will take place at the shop at 2pm on Sunday and if it goes well the Bristol city centre shop will then sell them.

Ellie, a Weston College student, said: “In the past couple of years I have gone from song writing to writing poetry.

“I used the things I see around me, my own experiences and those of others I know to inspire me.”
