Weston-super-Mare’s bus services have been disrupted by snowfall and black ice, meaning parts of the town will be left without public transport this morning (Wednesday).

First Bus has announced its X7 service will be unable to serve Locking Castle, and the number 5 service cannot reach West Wick. It will instead travel via Scot Elm Drive, no longer stopping at Kent Avenue.

The travel provider has blamed the disruption on the inclement weather caused by ‘The Beast From The East’ snow storm, which has swept across the country from the North Sea and first hit Weston yesterday.

First is also reporting its services heading out of Weston are delayed due to a broken down lorry in St Georges.

An amber weather warning for snow and ice is in place for tomorrow and Friday.
