NAILSEA'S town centre will become a hub of cultural and musical delights this summer with the first ever 'Festival in the park'.Nailsea Town Council and Youth House has teamed up with community leaders to launch 'Festival in the Park' which will take place at the Scotch Horn Park on July 14.The event - the first of its kind in Nailsea - will feature a variety of attractions including live music from local bands and dance displays. There will also be henna tattooists, art displays and storytelling sessions as well as a teddy bears picnic. The event is being aimed as a day out for the whole family and it is hoped that if it is successful, it will become an annual feature.Nailsea Youth House manager Grace Chadwick-Ryan said: "We are currently compiling the list of what attractions will appear at the event and are still in the planning stages."However, we do want this to be an event for all the family and make it as interactive as possible for the young people, perhaps by organising activities such as circus skills workshops which they can get involved with. We are all very excited about the event which will be a good day for Nailsea and a first for the town." The event, which will run from 12noon-7pm, is being partly funded by Nailsea Town Council which has earmarked £2,000 towards the project. The idea to hold a festival came from town councillor Jan Barber who enjoyed a similar event held at Grove Park, Weston-super-Mare.
