Rob Field bought The Atlantic Fish Bar & Restaurant in Meadow Street in 2001, and decided to reinvest in the business this year.

He said: “We had a fresh look at what we were doing and where the future lay for fish and chips.

“So we decided to take the humble fish and chips, and make it the best it can be.”

Rob said staff pride themselves on using fresh fish bought at nearby markets, and sourced from sustainable waters.

He said: “We want to take the best of the last 72 years and blend the traditional with modern to keep it going for the next 72.

“Everything is homemade, including our sauces, and we also sell a variety of new fish, including swordfish.

“The shop really looks exciting and interesting.”
