Flash sale on Weston's music concert tickets angers residents

A TWO-FOR-ONE ticket sale for Weston's summer music shows have left some residents feeling 'disgusted' over the promotion of the flash sale.
The ticket deal, which allowed music lovers to purchase a pass to South West Live or McBusted and get another free, ran on Bank Holiday Monday and North Somerset Council advertised the offer through its Twitter page.
The first concert will see three of the biggest boy bands grace the seafront stage in the McBusted show, starring Busted, McFly and Backstreet Boys.
The following day, June 29, will see South West Live hit the sands and include pop sensations such as Jessie J, Jason Derulo, The Saturdays and Union J.
Event organiser AEG Live told the Mercury this week that ticket sales are doing well, but it had been decided to hold this sale as a one-off before the big weekend.
But some supporters, who had already paid full price for their tickets weeks ago, and did not receive any discounts or extra offers, took to Facebook to voice their annoyance.
Jo Worley posted a message to the Mercury’s page saying: “Disgusted that North Somerset Council is actively promoting this offer when hundreds of teenagers have shown their support by booking early on this event and paying full price for their tickets.
“Basically ripping off a group of kids.”
Heather Roberts also commented, saying: “I think they have just shot themselves in the foot for any further activities.”
The South West Live show will replace the failed Summer Sets On The Beach, which was cancelled earlier this year, and the televised T4 On The Beach.
The line-up for the event will also include previous Weston visitors Rizzle Kicks, who performed during the final T4 show in 2012.
