TWELVE new flats could be built in central Weston if plans to demolish existing buildings are approved.

Plans for the new development at Greenfield Place have been submitted to North Somerset Council by the owner of the exiting buildings, Maureen Nichols.

There are currently four commercial buildings at the site, but only one has been occupied since 2005, as well as three flats and nine garages.

The proposed flats would consist of one one-bedroom property, seven two-bedroom flats and four with three bedrooms.

A decision is expected by March 29.
