Flood warning issued for Weston-super-Mare

People are being told to take extra care in coastal areas today (Tuesday) as a flood warning is issued.

Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Kingston Seymour and Uphill are all included in a flood alert which has been issued by the Environment Agency today.

Strong winds are expected to create large waves and there is a high tide forecast for tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.

The warning says: “People should be careful in coastal areas, along coastal paths and on promenades.

“Be prepared to protect yourselves, your families and your belongings.

“Farmers should be prepared to move equipment and livestock from flood-prone areas.”
