HOMEOWNERS fearful of flooding will be given the chance to quiz authorities about their future plans on Monday.

The Old School Rooms in Congresbury will host the public meeting at 8pm so villagers can discover what water management agencies have planned.

Last autumn heavy rain flooded parts of the A370, a house in Kent Road had to have floodwater pumped from it and the Millennium Green was left underwater.

Although it was not as badly hit as Yatton, Wrington and Claverham, the Environment Agency (EA) has earmarked more than £400,000 to improving Congresbury’s flood defences to the River Yeo. Badgers burrowing into the defences created fears they had been damaged earlier this year but an EA spokesman said they are still in good condition.
