Sedgemoor District Council is cracking down on fly-tipping and has upped the fine for the offence in a bid to stamp out the problem.
Fly-tipping is illegal and can be punishable by both a fine and imprisonment.
A spokesman for the council said: “Fly-tipping is a serious environmental problem, which is unsightly, hazardous to children and attracts vermin.
“Everyone in Sedgemoor can take action against fly-tipping, from reporting those dumping waste to avoiding their waste being fly-tipped.”
