AFTER the continued spell of recent wet weather Secret World Wildlife Rescue centre has been inundated with orphans and casualties seeking refuge from the rain.

The centre in East Huntspill is now appealing to the public and pet food suppliers to donate tins of cat and dog food, as its stores have plummeted.

Charity founder Pauline Kidner said: “Because of the catastrophic wet weather this has meant we are almost running out of room for all the casualties that have come into our care.

“Some of these animals will remain with us for a few weeks until they are fit and ready to be returned back into the wild and this will have a huge drain on our resources. We are hoping people will help us feed these casualties.”

Donations can be delivered to the rescue centre, or contact staff on 01278 783250.
