More than 20 hours of singing by members of Weston-super-Mare's Labour Party led to an impressive donation to Weston Foodbank.
Members of the political group spent 20 hours carolling in Weston High Street during December and raised £334.85 for the foodbank. The foodbank provides emergency food parcels to people in need and the money will be used to fund supplies.
Weston Labour members also donated 28kg of food to the North Street-based charity.
Group spokesman John Cadwallader said: “We were overwhelmed by the generosity of people as Christmas can be a time of great expense to all, especially the people whom hardship has fallen upon and need the services of the Foodbank.”
