THE chairman of a junior football club says 'mindless vandals' have caused so much damage to its headquarters that they will have to be demolished.Worle Junior Football Club's changing rooms in Midhaven Rise went up in smoke on Sunday evening (Nov 26) and Tim Clarke says he believes someone caused the damage deliberately.Mr Clarke said: "One of the small storage units was set alight originally but then it spread to the main changing rooms. Now we are going to have to contact North Somerset Council to demolish the building because so much damage has been caused and the area needs to be made safe."We've been trying to raise money to improve facilities and help a good bunch of lads play football. But we have been met again with mindless vandalism."Our teams are all in the top halves of their leagues and performing well, with the under 15s actually being at the top of theirs."But the club has been attacked continuously. Earlier this year vandals smashed up our changing rooms."We now need help to get a storage unit so we can have temporary changing facilities. The league has only given us a short period of time to sort the problem."We need a temporary building which is secure but we don't have the money ourselves to fix the problem. We also need help from someone who can help us knock down the damaged building."As the Weston & Somerset Mercury went to press fire investigation officers were still trying to establish the cause of the blaze. If anyone has any information they should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
