HUNDREDS of Ford fans lined up on Weston’s Beach Lawns on Sunday to show off their classic and modern models to raise money for a young carers charity.

Everything from Escort to Sierra Cosworth models were on display at the event organised by Ford Sport South West to raise money for North Somerset Crossroads Young Carers.

The charity helps support young people aged five to 18 who care for loved ones with disabilities, are terminally ill or have drug or alcohol problems.

Cupcakes were sold and a raffle was held to raise funds for the charity – with at least £400 raised from the day.

Joint organiser Sarah Kitching said: “We had about 250-300 classic and new Fords. We had a fantastic time and the weather was amazing as well.”

She said she wanted to thank Weston Fruit Sales for supplying free strawberries for the event.
