POLICE in Weston-super-Mare have arrested four people – including two youths – following a drugs raid on a town centre flat.

After a tip-off from a member of the public, officers were issued a warrant and carried out a raid in Meadow Street at around 11am.

About 25 wraps, believed to contain class A drugs, and some cash were seized from the flat.

Neighbourhood police teams and sniffer dogs carried out the search, which is still under way.

A man, a woman and two juveniles were arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs and are being booked into police custody.

Sergeant Mark Jenkins said: “We were able to take this action in response to information from the community, which is always really important in obtaining a warrant from the court.

“We are really grateful for that support and will continue to take action based on the information we are given.”
