Four people were arrested after a brawl ensued at a Weston beer garden on Saturday, as thousands flocked to the town to enjoy the sunshine.

Two men and two teenagers were arrested after a large group of people were filmed fighting at the garden of the Cabot Court Hotel in Knightstone Road.

Witnesses told the Mercury the fight involved rival football fans staying in the town ahead of matches which took place elsewhere on Sunday.

Those arrested were released, with one remaining under investigation.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: “We were called to reports of disorder in Knightstone Road, Weston, just after 4.30pm on Saturday.

“Two men, aged 45 and 23, and two teenagers, both 17, were arrested on suspicion of committing public order offences.
