Shirley Slater, of Old Church Road, is most of the way through her driving instructor course and hopes to pass her exam at the end of March.
But while she is not fully qualified, she cannot charge people for lessons and so is offering her services for free.
The 34-year-old said: "I have been teaching my mum and dad but they already drive so I'm not really getting the experience I need.
"I have been training to become a driving instructor for the past year in my spare time. I have always had driving and admin jobs and decided I would like to teach full time."
